Understanding logo files format.

If you work with logo and looking for logo for you company the you must store the logo format in vector files. Vector base file system can scale you log as per you need and pixel base logo will lose scaling property.

Image Resolution
High Resolution: Image with 300 DPI is consider as high res picture. Used for magazine and high quality prints. LOW Resolution: Image with 7g DPI is consider as low res. Used for online and screen used not for print.

JOINT PHOTOGRAPHIC EXPERTS GROUP | (.jpeg or jpg)

Typically used tor high quality photography and low resolution online use. Will loose quality if scaled over its pixel width. Does not support transparency. Not recommended for print use

PORTABLE NETWORK GRAPHICS | (.png )

Designed for transforming images on the Internet and not made for print. Support transparency. Used best for thr text, graphic and online use to create crisper look. It cannot be scaled over it pixel width.

GRAPHICS INTERCHANGE FORMAT | (.gif)

Used specifically for online use, colors, reducing number of color to 256 and can be used for animation. Also allows for reduced file size and support transparency. Similarly to .png but low quality

ADOBE PHOTOSHOP | (.psd)

Used for editing photos and graphics and web design stores and image with support for most imaging options including layers with mask, transparency, text, actions, filters etc. Cannot be scaled over its pixel with and is purely for exiting.

ENCAPSULATED POSTSCRIPT FILE | (.eps)

Used for logos and illustration as a vector, Can be scaled to any size without loosing any quality. Supports transparency and is perfect for large format print.

PORTABLE DOCUMENT FORMAT | (.pdf)

Used as way share document without losing the design or quality. A digital version of the hard copy. Generally used for emailing and sharing. Even elements and illustration can be pulled from certain PDF files.

ENCAPSULATED POSTSCRIPT FILE | (.ai)

Developed for representing a single page vector base drawing in either the EPS or PDF formats. It is a layered file used for illustration and graphic design. This is the file designers create your ORIGINAL LOGO IN.
